Akshay Kumar on Thursday unveiled the first trailer for his upcoming movie Rustom.

The trailer for Neeraj Pandey's romantic-thriller is set in 1950's. It is based on the life of Naval officer Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati, who killed his wife's lover by putting three bullets in him.

Akshay Kumar plays Rustom Pavri, a Naval Commander. The trailer shows a perfect marriage between Rustom and his wife, played by Ileana d'Cruz. There is love, there are picturesque locations, but maybe no loyalty. Because later we see D'Cruz's character going to meet her lover, Vikram played by Arjan Bajwa.

Devastated Rustom shoots the other man fatally with three bullets. This marks the start of courtroom drama. We see media getting involved, we see opinions being made, manipulated, and we see Vikram's sister, played by Esha Gupta, hell bent on getting justice for her brother.

The trailer says that this is the case that was responsible for ending the jury system in India.

Produced by Neeraj Pandey of Special 26, the movie is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.

After the comic relief of Housefull 3 Akshay Kumar is bringing the drama to the theatres on August 12.
