Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has been grabbing the eyeballs for a number of reasons recently. First it was the poster of her character from her upcoming film 7 Din Mohabbat In that went viral on social media platforms. Next, a few videos of her dancing on Bollywood songs like UP Bihar Lootne, Butterfly and Banno Tera Swagger took the social media by storm. The latest reason because of which the actress is breaking the Internet is a recent video of hers that has surfaced online, in which she can be seen smoking a cigarette.
The video has Mahira Khan smoking a cigarette just before her appearance on a show or some function. While some of the netizens slammed the actress, a large number of them didn't seem pleased by the way in which her smoking a cigarette was made out to be a huge issue. There were many who spoke in favour of the actress, asking everyone to let her be.

only a country like pakistan would make such a big deal out of a woman smoking. hypocrisy at its finest. grow up and get a life. mahira khan does not care about your useless opinions

I want to do a social experiment where @TheMahiraKhan and I go live, quietly sit and smoke our respective cigarettes and see who gets more hate for virtually doing the same thing. Then quietly sign off.

Channel 24's 9 pm headline: "Mahira Khan cigarette noshi may bhe maahir"
— Imran Ahmad Khan (@imranahmadkh) March 27, 2018
Any sane person at the said channel who can put an end to this stupidity?
To the girls,

The way you’re defending Mahira Khan’s character, same way stop bitching about girls around you.
To the boys,
Give the same freedom of choice to your sisters, daughters and family members.
Mahira Khan got caught smoking twice:
— Baji Please (@BajiPlease) March 28, 2018
People: Let her be, man. It's her life.
Imran Khan never got caught snorting cocaine:
People: Kya nasha kernay wala shakhs Naya Pakistan banaye ga?
And i dont understand that mentality of Pakistanis that a man is allowed to smoke but if a woman smokes she is a hoe. Mahira Khan is an independent women and she has achieved much more than you lowlife cunts who can just type on their phones to get attention. Stop being a dick.

This isn't the first incident that the actress has grabbed eyeballs for smoking. Earlier, a few pictures of the actress sharing a smoke with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor in NYC had surfaced online and gone viral. This happened last year, post which Mahira had apologised to her fans.
She had then said,"It was a personal thing. I have learnt from it. Because, I am a very careful person otherwise. I don't want to do it for the world. Media is everywhere. So we've learnt from it.”
Ranbir Kapoor too had commented on the massive backlash that the actress received. He had said, "It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman."
