Was Sonam Kapoor ignored at the Star Screen Awards 2016?

Sonam Kapoor gave a fabulous performance this year in Neerja. The actress single-handedly shouldered a powerful film like this and everyone thought it was an award winning stint for sure. 

But the first Awards night have concluded and much to our surprise, Sonam didn't receive any Award. While Swara Bhaskar walked away with the Best Actress (Critics) Award, it was Alia Bhatt who received the same in the Popular category. 

We wonder how they missed out on Sonam totally! Although we do feel that Alia too is extremely deserving of the award, ignoring Sonam completely is not what we expected them to do. Maybe, a joint winners thing could also have worked out well.
