Social media went into a frenzy with the alleged leak of Emraan Hashmi's upcoming flick, Raaz Reboot, on Tuesday night. Also, some tweets by the actor and the makers of the movie urging people to denounce watching pirated copies the movie and watch the movie "only in the theatres" added to the drama.

What happened was, some of Emraan's well-wishers went overboard in warning him about the leak. But the truth is, it was only a clip of the movie which had been circulating online.

Hoards of people online felt cheated as a result and began trolling the makers of the movie calling it a "publicity gimmick". One user posted "#RaazRebootLeaked must be rumour spread by the makers themselves to mislead people into thinking that there are some people interested in seeing it." Somebody else tweeted "Promotion Ke Liye Saala Kuch Bhi Karega. Not a single working link. Sab ki sab Fake."

Director Vikram Bhatt chose to be silent about the incident. When a tabloid approached Mukesh Bhatt, the producer of the movie, he said, "I got an asthma attack because of the fear of the film being leaked. Do you think we would resort to such cheap tricks? A producer can even die if his film is leaked online. Only a twisted mind can think that this is marketing gimmick. Why would we incur losses?”
