As speculations around the couple’s wedding refuse to die down, here’s what had happened so far
Speculations revolving around Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma getting married seem to have found no breather ever since it was first reported that Virat Kohli opted out of the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka in December citing 'personal reasons'. While neither Virat not Anushka have confirmed the news of them tying the knot, rumours of what can be the wedding of the year, don’t seem to die down.
While Anushka’s spokesperson called the news of her marriage to be baseless, the rumours again started gaining momentum when Anushka, along with her parents, was spotted leaving for Switzerland from Mumbai airport but soon after, it was known that they actually flew to Italy. Anushka’s brother was also spotted at the airport along with the priest, with whom Anushka and Virat have been clicked previously. Following suit, Virat also left the country from the New Delhi airport.

Marriage venue
As soon as Virat and Anushka left for Europe with their respective families, everyone went into a tizzy in order to believe that the couple might indeed be tying the knot. While it was earlier reported that a luxury hotel in Milan will host the Virat-Anushka wedding, it was later learnt that Virushka, as the couple if fondly called, will get married in a heritage resort in Tuscany, about four hours' drive from Milan, in south Italy. If reports are to be believed, it might be a Tuscan wedding for Virat and Anushka in the second most-expensive holiday destination at a resort called Borgo Finocchieto. Meanwhile, Bhangra dancers were apparently spotted entering the venue on Saturday, as sound of dhol beats were heard across the property.
Wedding date
Multiple wedding dates have been doing the rounds regarding Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma marriage. While it was speculated that the couple might get hitched on either on December 12 or December 18, recent reports suggest that the two will tie the knot on December 15. Meanwhile, the couple is said to register their marriage at the Bandra family court on January 4. While it is not confirmed, the registration is likely to take place sometime before December 27 since Virat is expected to fly to South Africa with the Indian Cricket team after that.
Invitees
Considering their hush-hush depart from the country, it is clear that Virat and Anushka and their families want to keep the wedding a low-key affair. But recent reports suggest that Virat has invited only two cricketers – Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar – for the wedding, Anushka, on the other hand, has sent out invitations to Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, director Maneesh Sharma and Yash Raj Films’ honcho Aditya Chopra. In fact, DNA reported earlier that Aditya was the one of the first few people who knew about Virat-Anushka’s impending marriage.
Reception in Mumbai?
With no official confirmation from either of the two, it was reported that Virat will host a grand wedding reception at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, either on December 21 or December 26, before he leaves for the tour of South Africa with the Indian team.
Well, as Virat and Anushka are enjoying their time in Italy, we wonder when the most-awaited, wedding of the year, will finally take place.
