Goa Governor Mridula Sinha today recalled her conversation with actor Vinod Khanna earlier this month, wherein he had agreed to visit the coastal state to promote his last film "Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi".

The film is based on Sinha's biography of Vijaya Raje Scindia, the former Rajmata of Gwalior.

"I spoke with him 25 days back and requested him to come to Goa to promote the film. He agreed to come stating that his doctor has allowed him to travel," the governor said.

The film is based on 'Rajpath se Lokpath tak' which describes Vijaya Raje's journey from one of the highest aristocrats of the land to a well-known political personality.

"Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi" was released recently.

"Unfortunately, he (Khanna) could not come as he fell sick. I wanted to meet him. He wanted to come to Goa," the governor said.

Sinha recalled that Khanna readily agreed to act in the film when she had approached him.

"He also revealed to me the difficulties about making a film," she said.

Hailing Khanna as "the most versatile actor of the current time," Sinha said entire nation is condoling his death today.

"He was famous actor of the yesteryears. He plunged into politics for doing social work due to which he successfully fought election two times," Sinha added.
