Vidya Balan opts out of Kamala Das biopic Aami!

Vidya Balan was all set to play author-poet Kamala Das in the Malayalam biopic titled Aami directed by Kamal. But now, that’s not happening anymore.

The last time Vidya informed us that she had already begun prep for the film and was kicked about playing Das in the biopic. Adds our source, “She wanted some changes in the script and the final draft given to her didn’t excite her. In fact, she wanted to spend more time with the director and the writer to get into the skin of her character and that didn’t happen.”

It’s after this that Vidya decided to opt out. Her spokesperson confirmed the news, “Vidya respects the director and the team working on the film. However the director and she had very different approaches to the film. So, she opted out of the film in the most amicable and professional manner. Any other reasons cited are untrue.”
