Vidya Balan goes the silk way again!

Vidya Balan, who had acted in the biopic The Dirty Picture, inspired by the life of Silk Smitha, appears to take the silken tag seriously. The actress has been roped in as the brand ambassador for the Silk Mark Organisation of India, that certifies products that are made of pure silk.

The Silk Mark label will also safeguard the interests of both the weaver and the consumer. Vidya is known to wear handloom fabrics. She not just loves sarees but is known to promote Indian textiles. She has always spoken about how she feels strongly for the dying art of handloom in the country and would like to spread awareness about the weavers work.
