'Vicky Donor' Telugu remake gets ready for release

Bollywood's critically acclaimed film Vicky Donor is being remade in Telugu with Nagarjuna Akkineni's nephew, actor Sumanth, in the main lead. Sumanth had back-to-back flops in Tollywood and took a long break after his last film Emo Gurram Egaravachu​.

Now, the actor himself is producing and acting in this comedy drama. Debutant director Mallik Ram is directing this movie. New face Pallavi Subhash of Hindi TV serial Mahabharatha fame is going to make her acting debut in Tollywood with this film. She is reprising Yami Gautam’s role in this remake.

According to sources, the regular shooting of this untitled film has been completed and post-production work is going on. Noted comedian Thanikella Bharani is reprising Annu Kapoor’s role in this Telugu version. The director was very keen to bring a popular Bollywood actor to reprise Annu Kapoor’s role in Telugu but at the end of the day Thanikella Bharani was finalised for his role. If everything goes well, this film would hit screens by the end of 2016.

Vicky Donor was originally written by Juhi Chaturvedi and directed by Shoojit Sircar in Bollywood.
