Urmila Matondkar is all set to return to the small-screen as a judge on a Marathi dance reality show Dance Maharashtra Dance slated on Zee Marathi. The actress, who has already judged dance shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in the past is excited about being a part of this show, specially because she will be a ‘grandmaster’. Just like her counterpart Mithun Chakraborty on Dance India Dance. “The other shows had me only as judge, this show takes me to the next level.

There are three people as judges and my role is a notch above and it will require me to extend my talent and personality to that, which is exciting,” says the actress who is passionate about dance.  “Even thinking about dance makes me happy,” smiles Urmila, who has to her credit some sizzling numbers like Chamma Chamma and Tanha Tanha.

Urmila understandably is proud about  her songs. “Not just my films even my songs are varied in terms of fashion, choreography and what I am trying to express through them,” she says.  She cites the example of Rangeela, the film that catapulted her to the top. “When the film released, people talked about my sex-appeal and stuff like that but the film is actually about the navrasas. It has everything from anger to shringar. From Yayee re, in which I am this carefree girl wearing short dresses and enjoying her life to a passionate Hai Rama, it has everything in it. The songs were a milestone for choreographers too,” she says.

Among the current chartbusters, it’s Salman Khan’s Pandeyji Seeti Bajaye that has Urmila grooving. “Dancing is not only about being technically right. It’s about doing it in the liveliest manner and Salman is really rocking in the Dabangg 2 songs,” she smiles.
