Anil D Ambani's Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films yesterday announced their Indo-French partnership for two movies starring the popular French actor, Kev Adams.
Queen director Vikas Bahl will head one of the projects, tentatively titled The Interpreter, with Kev as the lead, after wrapping up Super 30. A romantic comedy , it focuses on two young people speaking different languages who fall in love. In order to overcome the language barrier, they are forced to rope in an interpreter.
Kev will also play the lead in the other film, To The Top. The Serge Hazanavi cius-directorial, written by Hazanavi cius, Stephane Dan, Mary-Noelle Dana, and Alexis Galmot, is the tale of a father-son relationship. The movie traces the journey of two men who share the same passion, getting torn apart. Even tually, love reunites them.
A stand-up artiste-turned actor, Kev's Les Profs 2 and The New Adventures Of Aladdin were the top-grossing films of 2015 in France and China. About the collaboration, he says, “It's one of my most exciting experiences, both as an actor and a human being. I am thrilled to live my Bollywood dream. I love the modernity and the message that Vikas conveys through his movies.“
On his part, the filmmaker says, “When I conceived the concept of The Interpreter, I never thought it would see the light of the day . Thanks to Kev and our close ties with French cinema, this dream is becoming a reality soon. I hope I can live up to the expectations of Kev's fans.“
Shibashish Sarkar, COO, Reliance Entertainment, adds, “Our co-productions will help improve the global appeal of Indian films, and also bring the essence of French cinema to Indian audiences.“
