Two for Alia Bhatt, none for Sonam!

Alia Bhatt won two awards at an award function last week. One for Udta Punjab and the other for Dear Zindagi.

Sonam Kapoor was deserving of at least one of these awards for her super performance for Neerja. Says an insider, “Maybe Sonam lost out the award because they were many people in the jury connected to Karan Johar’s (also the host for the evening) Dharma Productions and they voted for KJo’s protégé.

Also, the award show is being aired on the channel that has landed the rights to show Alia’s next film. Alia deserved the award for DZ for sure, the second one is debatable.”

Meanwhile, kudos to Sonam for attending an award show, despite knowing that she wasn’t winning. No other actress does that. They take it in writing that they are winning and then, they give the nod to walk the red carpet.
