Naseeruddin Shah recently opined that Rajesh Khanna was a 'limited actor' and was responsible bringing in mediocrity in Indian Cinema

Looks like Naseeruddin Shah's recent remarks on Rajesh Khanna haven't gone down well with daughter Twinkle Khanna.
Shah in his recent interview with the Hindustan Times had stated that he believes nothing has changed in Bollywood and it's the same as it was 50 years ago with the exception of photography and editing. He went on to add saying, "...it was the 70’s when mediocrity came in Hindi films. That’s when the actor called Rajesh Khanna joined the industry. For all his success, I think Mr Khanna was a very limited actor. In fact, he was a poor actor. Intellectually, he wasn’t the most alert person I have ever met. His taste ruled the industry,” reported HT.
Apparently, daughter Twinkle hasn't taken the comments in good taste. Twinkle took to her Twitter account to hit back at Shah writing,
Sir if u can't respect the living ,respect the dead-mediocrity is attacking a man who can't respond @NaseerudinShah https://t.co/4EdyWmwiNj

Ace film-maker Karan Johar also lent his support to twinkle. Karan tweeted:
I agree with you @mrsfunnybones...due respect to seniority but this was in exceptionally bad taste and not becoming of a fraternity member..

Well, Shah is known to speak his mind out in the most honest ways but looks like this time they were not in good taste. Previously, his remarks on Anupam Kher supporting the Kashmiri Pandits had raised quite a furore, post which he had stated that his words were misconstrued. Something similar likely to happen now as well? Watch out this space for more.
