Trailer of Stephen Hawking biopic 'The Theory of Everything' released

The trailer for Focus Features' The Theory of Everything, a biopic on celebrated theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking has been released. Directed by James Marsh, the film stars Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking and Felicity Jones as Jane Hawking.

Hawking met and fell in love with Jane Wilde, an art student, while they were studying at Cambridge in the 1960s. The were married for several years before getting divorced in 1995. The film is said to be based on Jane Hawking's memoir Traveling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen. 

It will trace the journey of a young Hawking as a student of cosmology beginning to discover his genius, the diagnosis of his illness, how he survived and his relationship with Jane Wilde.

Hawking, now 72, was diagnosed with a motor neuron disease at 21 and given only two years to live. Although almost completely physically paralyzed, he went on to become a brilliant physicist.

The film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7.
