US federal agents of Homeland Security Investigations have busted an international human trafficking racket that took Tollywood and Kannada actresses to America for engaging in commercial sex with Indians.

US federal agents of Homeland Security Investigations have busted an international human trafficking racket that took Tollywood and Kannada actresses to America for engaging in commercial sex with Indians.

According to a report by Times of India, the investigating agency has identified a couple, Kishan Modugumudi, alias Sreeraj Chennupati, and Chandrakala Purnima Modugumudi, alias Vebha Jayam, from Hyderabad who brought these actresses to the US. They bought their plane tickets, booked hotel rooms across the country. They took these actresses and anchors to Telugu and other Indian conferences held in the USA to nab potential customers for sexual acts.

The complained filed byHomeland Security Investigations revealed that they have statements from five victims, hotel records, customer acknowledgements of purchasing sex acts, credit cards of the accused couple, handwritten note on Mariott hotel stationery to prove the case against the couple.

The authorities also found letters from Amercial Telugu Association (ATA) to the US consul general at Hyderabad requesting visas for these victims. The report also revealed that one of the Telugu filmstars had gone to the US to attend Telugu Association of Southern California (TAS) star night event in California on November 8, 2017.

She arrived two days late and instead of going to California she went to Chicago. The move alerted the American authorities which led to the racket bust.
