The Kapil Sharma Show will go on for at least a month. Says a source, “The skit-cum-chat show’s contract with Sony Entertainment Television expires in less than two weeks, but in a rather generous gesture, the channel has decided to offer a month’s extension,” reports MidDay.

Kapil has been trying to manage without his main acts, Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar, Chandan Prakhabar, Sugandha Mishra and creative head Preeti Simoes, but has not been able to impress the audience. Comedian Raju Shrivastav has joined the team with Sumona Chakrabarti and Rochelle Rao.

Some of the guests who recently attended the show include Raveena Tandon and the Meri Pyaari Bindu lead pair— Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurana. Kapil turned 36 yesterday and celebrated his birthday with Parineeti and Ayushmann.

In a video of their conversation shared by the actor indicates that none of Kapil’s former colleagues bothered to wish him on his big day. Meanwhile stand-up comic Raju Shrivastav was supposed to broker peace between Sunil Grover and Kapil post their mid-air fight, but he admits to have not succeeded in the task, as per the tabloid report.

The MidDay report further added that Raju, who has also found a permanent place on the show, says, “I met Sunil last week when he was shooting for Indian Idol right next to where we were shooting for our show. I went into his vanity van and tried convincing him. He told me, ‘Raju bhai, I don’t want publicity out of this or wish to sound arrogant, but there have been many instances when I have been offended. This time, all limits were crossed. He (Kapil) may have apologised, but I won’t return to the show.”
