Here's why Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan and Sunny Leone couldn't cast their vote in the ongoing BMC elections...
Some of the biggest Bollywood stars including the likes of Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone,Katrina Kaif etc, will not be able to cast their votes in the ongoing BMC elections. While a host of celebs turned up at various voting booths and exercised their right to vote, this is why these celebs won't be able to do the same.
1) Akshay Kumar: Though Akshay Kumar was born in Amritsar and named Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, he won't be able to cast his vote in the BMC elections as he holds a Canadian passport.
2) Deepika Padukone: Soon to be seen in Padmavati, Deepika was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Hence, despite being brought up in Bengaluru, the actress can't cast her vote.
3) Alia Bhatt: Probably one of the most versatile and talented actresses in the current lot, ALia Bhatt is not an Indian. Her mother Soni Razdan is of British origin and Alia holds a British passport.
4) Katrina Kaif: The dancing diva of B-Town, Katrina holds a UK passport. The fact that Katrina is one of the most successful foreigners working in India is not hidden from anyone.
5) Imran Khan: Nephew to Aamir Khan, Imran cannot cast his vote, unlike his mamu jaan, as he holds an American passport.
6) Jacqueline Fernandez: The Kick actress represented Sri Lanka at the Miss Universe pageant and was born in Bahrain. Her father is a sri Lankan whereas her mother is of Malaysian descent
7) Amy Jackson: The latest actress to have shot for Salman Khan's Being Indian line, Amy cannot vote in India as she's British.
8) Nargis Fakhri: Making her debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar, Nargis Fakhri was last seen in Banjo. However, the actress can't vote in India as she's half Czech and half Pakistani.
9) Sunny Leone: Ruling the hearts of the Indian masses with her dance number in Raees, Sunny Leone holds a Canadian citizenship and hence can't vote in India.
10) Varun Dhawan: The actor took out some time to go to a booth to cast hios vote but couldn't do so as his name was missing from the voting list.
