Vikram Bhatt's BDSM based web series Maaya, that starred Shama Sikander in the lead, has got a sequel - Maaya 2. The trailer, song promo and posters of Maaya 2 have already created quite a stir, especially, the kissing scene between lead actresses Priyal Gor and Leena Jumani. The erotic drama is based on the story of a star struck same-sex couple, the ups and downs they go through and how they try to cross the hurdles that come in the way of them being together. The trailer of the web series has also received quite a lot of flak online owing to its explicit content and of course, the kiss between Priyal and Leena.
While talking about Maaya 2 and the kind of response it has gathered among other things with the IndianExpress.com, Priyal shared that she doesn't get bothered with the online trolls and would rather focus on the positives like those who've appreciated the efforts. Speaking about the kind of reactions that Maaya 2 trailer has generated, Priyal told the portal, "Firstly, the audience hasn’t seen me doing something like this, so there was a certain amount of shock. But mostly, when people don’t spare actors playing negative characters, why would they do to someone who is playing a homosexual. That’s how the world goes about things like this.”
When quizzed about those who believe that the trailer of Maaya 2 has been laced with bold scenes to draw attention, Priyal said, "There are so many scenes like these in film trailers, does that mean we do it just to sell our projects? No! If you even see the promo, it’s not just about lust but there’s a complete story of love and emotions.”
The actress was asked if she was apprehensive about taking up the show she said that she was pretty sure that she wanted to do it since she had worked with the team earlier and on meeting Krishna, she loved the story. Priyal added that the show isn't just about the kiss, but has much more to offer. She was quoted as saying, "If you just focus about the kiss, it will look vulgar but then that’s just a part of the story. The entire show is a very moving one and I was completely convinced."
