Looks like the truth is still out there and the hunt will continue in a new series of hit sci-fi show 'The X-Files.'

As reported by the Independent, Fox has announced that the science fiction drama is all set to return for an eleventh season.

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will reprise their roles of Dana Scully and Fox Mulder.

Series creator Chris Carter will also return as an executive producer for the series. No current word on exact release date but production is scheduled to start this summer for a possible 2017-18 launch.

In a statement issued by Fox broadcasting company?s President David Madden said, ?Chris' creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can't wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of ?The X-Files?.

The studio also released a teaser poster.

After the news, Gillian took to Twitter and shared quirky photos of her with David and captioned it, ?You ready for more of this @davidduchovny? ?? #TheXFiles.?

To which, David responded and wrote, ?Oh yes, Been ready since '93.?

Last year, the show was revived for a special 6 episode series with the adventures of Mulder and Scully chasing out the truth or to be pr?cised, ?the aliens?.
