Ayushmann Khurrana says one's vocal skills alone are not enough for you to make it

He may have made his foray into the entertainment world, with a reality show but he's come a long way since. Ayushmann Khurrana has established himself as a Bollywood actor as well as a singer.
The Vicky Donor star, however, says it's not so easy. He told a publication, “We live in an era, in which there are opportunities for everyone. My father wanted to be a music director, but he didn’t get the chance as he lived in Chandigarh. Many yesteryear singers tried very hard [to get work] in Mumbai, but they couldn’t even cross the boundaries of the studios as they didn’t have any contacts. Reality TV shows, however, reach out to the people who don’t have the required contacts.”
He feels aside from one's vocal abilities, one's persona also counts - it's the whole package. He adds, "It (success) depends on you — how edgy and versatile you are, and how good you are as a performer. It also depends on what genre of music you listen to, and how you develop a good connection with the audience. It’s not just about being a good singer. It’s the overall personality that matters,” he says.
