It seems that DC comics always has something up their sleeve for the month of September, first it was their complete reboot of the DC Universe with The New 52, then they launched Zero Month last September and this time around they're letting the Villains of the DC Universe take the spotlight.

In Villains Month, The Joker, Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Grodd, Catwoman, Two-Face, Sinestro, Cheetah and a host of others steal the spotlight from Batman, Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and the rest of the DC heroes. Right on the heels of DC's in-universe crossover event, Trinity War which saw the Crime Syndicate, the evil doppelgangers of the Justice League were in fact behind the event, and not the Secret Society.

Villains Month will feature all One Shots of the different villains of the DCU and would drop the normal titles which usually release. For instance, Batman #23 would be replaced with #23.1 as Joker #01, #23.2 as The Riddler #01, #23.3 as The Penguin #01, and #23.4 as Bane #01.

Similarly most of the other titles will be replaced with their villainous counterparts. The month acts as a prelude to Forever Evil, the first line wide crossover since the reboot of the DC Universe, by the 2011 crossover event Flashpoint. All the one-shots would release online as well as hardcover, with the hard covers having 3-D covers.
