The first look of Mahesh Babu's next venture with AR Murugadoss is finally out, and the title is finally revealed as well...
AR Murugadoss's next project with Mahesh Babu, now finally revealed to be titled Spyder, saw its first look revealed today. The film was previously reported to be titled Mahesh 23.
The first look was initially supposed to be released on March 29 on the day of the festival of Ugadi. As reported by a source at Hindustan Times, “Originally, the makers planned to release the first look on the occasion of Ugadi in March. However, Murugadoss was not happy with the final design which was finalised by the production side. It was after going back and forth on a new design, it was unanimously decided that it will be released on April 12, two days ahead of Tamil New Year.”
On Tuesday, the NVR Cinema Twitter account, which manages Mahesh Babu, put out a tweet announcing the release of the first look on April 12. "The Countdown Begins! Mark your Calendar!! Set your Time!! #Mahesh23 #ARM11 #FirstLook12Apr17@5pm" was what the post said.
The poster and teaser of the movie were finally released by the movie's official Twitter account, with the two posters showing Mahesh Babu in a plain black and red backdrop with a gun. The teaser of the film shows a futuristic Mahesh Babu being formed out of the blowing grains, keeping it simple but making fans even more excited for the movie.
The film marks Mahesh Babu's Tamil debut and will be released in both Tamil and Telegu. It is a reboot of 2012's Thuppakki starring Vijay which was also directed by Murugadoss. According to reports, Mahesh Babu will play a secret agent in the movie. The movie also stars Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead and SJ Suryah as the antagonist, and will be released on 23 June 2017.
