We can’t have enough celebrations, and when celebrating the centenary of Indian cinema, no one wants to stay behind. Charcoal artist Mini Naidu is paying her tribute to 100 years of cinema with a collection of charcoal sketch series Taare Zameen Par at the Kala Ghoda Festival which starts from Monday next week.

Taare Zameen Par is a personal tribute to a cross-section of lead actors and actresses who have graced the Hindi film screen since the last century. Since the cinema theme is too vast (producers, directors, music directors, singers, villains, vamps, comedians, other supporting cast, etc) Mini has concentrated on only one aspect. “For me, art is not an end but rather a means towards an end,” she says. She also likes to write poetry and is currently working towards a book to be published in June 2014.
