The CBFC gets a new office

The office  of the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) in Mumbai will no longer be located  in Pali Hill. The offices of  the Board have now moved to Peddar Road in South Mumbai.

This re-location on the other end of the hub of the film Industry in the Andheri is deliberate.

Delinking made possible

Says an important source from the CBFC, “The office is being shifted this month from Pali Hill to Peddar Road in the same compound as the Films Division  office. This is in pursuance of the endeavour to delink the Mumbai film industry from the workings of the CBFC as far as possible. Producers should not be at liberty to drop in at the CBFC office to meet the chairperson at the drop of a hat. In fact, now when the CBFC moves to a new office, no producer or any member of the film industry would be entertained without a prior appointment.”
