Naseeruddin Shah is back with his new production and this time it's "though not really a change of pace from our usual message-oriented plays, is more elaborate than the others in the presentation style." Gadh-ha aur Gadd-Ha, based on Krishen Chander's satirical writing, is surely going to enthrall the audience with its sharp wit. Shah who has directed the play and is acting in it as well says, "Krishen Chander's hysterically funny satires highlighting the plight of the common man, though written about 50 years ago, they retain their relevance in modern day India. The humour is dark and the prescience of the writer's observations quite eerie."

The play along with the thespian on stage will also see his son Imaad giving music to the show. "All my three children have musical talent. I don't know where it comes from. I always wanted to sing and play the guitar but could never learn! I greatly admire and envy Imaad for teaching himself music. I love the music he makes and am delighted with what he has composed for this production," Shah adds.

In their 'Story-telling on Stage' series, Motley is giving a tribute to master satirist Krishan Chander. The play consists of his famous short story 'Gaddhaa (The hole) and selections from his celebrated works: Hindi ka Naya Qaida and Ek Gadhhe ki Aatmakatha.
