Bharti Singh gifted cell phones to 12 members of her Nach Baliye crew who helped her and Harsh Limbachiyaa pull off an aerial act. Not only that, the four days that they rehearsed she ensured that it was done in the comfort of an air-conditioner. “While dancing we sweat, so imagine how hot the guys, who sit on the top holding the harnesses, must be feeling. Usually the production house runs the AC for the entire unit, which costs a lot. So, Harsh and I decided to pay for the days we rehearse,” informs Bharti.

As for gifting mobiles, Bharti says that the first day after rehearsing the act, they saw the guys who were holding the harnesses massaging their hands. “We realised that it would have been painful pulling moving me and Harsh up. I weigh 85 kilos and Harsh is 80 kilos, the combined weight is over 160 kgs. Both of us felt bad for them and decided we should do something for them as a token of appreciation. Harsh ruled out money or clothes, so we zeroed in on cell phones,” reveals the popular comedian. She and Harsh chose to gift it to them privately. “I didn’t want to do it on stage in front of everybody, so I called them to our room. Initially, they were scared as they thought something had gone wrong during the act. When we said we are very happy with them and so are giving them a small gift, they broke into smiles. Looking at their faces, I felt like I have won Nach Baliye! It was an emotional moment,” says Bharti.

Bharti and her husband are back together on Nach Baliye

Harsh had missed shooting for the last episode due to his leg injury. However, he will be back next week to dance with Bharti. “I had offered to withdraw from the show as it wasn’t fair to other jodis if I danced with the choreographer Savio Barnes as he has a good timing. Harsh, on the other hand, is a non-dancer. But they were very sweet and said we should continue. The judges, however, have said that now onwards even if somebody gets injured they have to continue, and not dance with choreographers, which is fair. So, though Harsh will not be dancing much, he will be standing there and supporting me,” signs off Bharti.
