Tamil comedian Kumarimuthu passes away in Chennai

Actor and comedian Kumarimuthu, 77, breathed his last on Sunday at a private hospital in Chennai. Sources have been quoted as saying that he passed away at Kauvery Hospital due to illnesses related to old age.

Idhu Namma Aalu, Sahadevan Mahadevan, Oru Oorla Oru Rajakumari and Marumagan are some of his well-known Tamil films. The comedian was seen in more than 50 films in his career.

One unique aspect of his personality was his laugh. Directors used his laugh to showcase his brand of comedy in many of his films.  

The actor and comedian also took to politics and had joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
