Tamil actress Sangeetha Balan arrested for running prostitution ring

In a shocking turn of events, popular Tamil actress Sangeetha Balan has been arrested for allegedly running a prostitution ring in Chennai. The actress who is known for her part in Sun TV's Vani Rani was reportedly involved in flesh trade in a private resort at Panayur in Chennai. 

The Chennai police raided the resort on East Coast Road in Chennai after they got a tip-off about the sex racket being run by the actress along with a person named Sathish. Several women from the different part of the country including North India have been rescued and sent to a rehabilitation center. 

Sangeetha and Sathish were presented before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore and have been sent to jail.

Sangeetha Balan made her acting debut with Tamil film 'Karuppu Roja' in 1996. She has worked in several films including 'Unmai' and 'Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum'
