Swarna Thomas on ventilator after falling from balcony

Malayalam actress Swarna Thomas, who suffered severe injuries after falling from her fourth floor apartment here earlier this week is on ventilator support in a private hospital, a family friend of the 18-year-old said.

"Swarna was down with fever few days back when the incident happened in her apartment. As she was walking in the balcony, she felt dizzy, she slipped and fell down on Wednesday," the family friend said.

"Due to the fall, she suffered fracture in her spine and was rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU). She was later shifted to ventilator due to liver contusion," he added.

Swarna has featured on TV show Super Dance. As an actress, she is popular for films such as Flat, and was set to make her Tamil debut with upcoming film Vetri Selvan soon.

She was busy shooting for upcoming Malayalam romantic-comedy Buddy, which is being directed by Raaj Prabhavathy Menon and produced by Augustine Jackson.

"It is very unfortunate to know about what happened to Swarna. She is a highly energetic actress and is very passionate about her work," producer Augustine Jackson said.
