The queens of entertainment came up ahead of the BJP's PM candidate in the search engine's searches in 2013.

With the Lok Sabha elections set for 2014, on the Internet election fever has lost out to entertainment buzz as actresses Sunny Leone, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif beat the likes of Narendra Modi, Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi on Yahoo's most searched list in 2013.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and R Ashwin were the top cricketers as now retired Indian great Sachin Tendulkar failed to even make it to the top-10. The cricketer's retirement however was the biggest searched event.

The Indian netizen seems to be searching for the new and young in opposition to the conventional.

Sunny Leone thanks to Jackpot and her upcoming film Ragini MMS 2 besides her porn films was on the list, while Katrina Kaif's Dhoom 3 that is set to release on Friday as well as her 'alleged' love affair with Ranbir Kapoor earned top searches.

Deepika Padukone's Ramleela as well as Chennai Express plus her link to co-star Ranveer Singh ensured she along with her fellow actresses topped the search ahead of the politicians.

People wanted to read about entertainment over politics online in 2013, politicians will hope the trend changes in 2014 as India gets set for the Lok Sabha elections.
