Sultan was like my twin: Saira Banu

Yesteryear actress Saira Banu had a quiet, cheerless birthday yesterday. She’s still devastated by her brother Sultan Ahmed’s death earlier this year (January 15).

She says, “It is very difficult to make people understand that Sultan was everything to Yusuf Saab (her husband Dilip Kumar’s real name is Yusuf Khan) and me. He was our closest companion all our lives. Sultan was almost like my twin.”

She kept to herself throughout the day yesterday. With Dilip keeping poor health, at 72, she is lonely and terrified of the future. A close friend of the actress shares, “Her world revolves completely around Yusuf Saab. The other person who was closest to her heart was her brother Sultan.”
