Netflix's Stranger Things exploded on the TV show scene in 2016 and went on to become one of the most popular television shows of the year.

As a new show trying to figure out the ropes for some things, such as spoiler prevention, the makers have turned to HBO's Game of Thrones. “We literally consulted with the producers on Game of Thrones to learn security protocols,” say executive producer Shawn Levy of Stranger Things.

Season 1 of Stranger Things was basically shot in a bubble without much concern for leaks or paparazzi. But all that has changed for season 2. “I just knew I used to throw my sides away and now they have to be burnt,” says co-creator Ross Duffer of his daily shooting notes. Adds Levy, “We had no security protocols last season and we have extensive security protocols this season. I can’t speak about what they are because then people could crack them. We protect every story point, every page of every script.”

Even the cast is cloaked in secrecy. “Now we have a code name (for the show),” says Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven. “And now I have a code name! It’s this weird thing. On the call sheets our names are across it and if we lose it, we’re dead.”

While the second season of Stranger Things is expected to return for Halloween this year on Netflix, Game of Thrones season 7 is expected premiere on Star World Premiere HD, Star Word HD and Star World in summer.
