After Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Yo Yo Honey Singh, another actress becomes a victim of death hoax on social media.

On Sunday, news of Farida Jalal's death spread like wild fire on social networking sites.

However, when contacted Farida affirmed, "I am hale and hearty." She further added, "I don't know from where these baseless rumours are coming from. Initially I laughed, but from last 30 mins my phone have been constantly ringing and everybody is asking the same question. It's a bit irritating, I wonder why people spread such rumours."

The actress, who will be soon seen playing a prominent role of a Kashmiri woman in Imran Khan's upcoming film 'Sargoshiyan'. 

Born on March 14, 1949 in New Delhi, Jalal has worked in more than two-hundred Bollywood films, apart from Telugu, Tamil and English-language film and Indian television. She is popularly known for playing Jiya's Nani in the Indian television show Shararat. 

She had won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress​ in Paras (1971), Henna (1991) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995).
