The genre he’s working on as Awkward Bong is Organic Pop — basically songs with a pretty set pop structure, but with live instruments and vocals. Brightest Corners finds its roots in revisited recordings made during his college days. How different is this record from his first, self-titled EP? “It has a lot more structure. Hopefully, it’s more hooky. The thought process is more organised.”
Ask him about the name and he admits he used to be really shy socially. “And that’s not really changed, but it’s not crippling anymore. And I know the name is kinda old, but I’ve stuck with it.”
PS: A little known fact we forgot to share with you... filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar is his father. Creativity runs in the family here!
