Not just star kids and siblings, but even their cousins are realising their Bollywood dreams. While Parineeti Chopra and Abhay Deol have already made a name for themselves like their famous cousins, there are many who are waiting in the aisle to see themselves on the big screen. It’s only natural that after seeing the kind of adulation and moolah that their cousins rake in, these youngsters too want to try their luck at the box-office. Some debutants will have their cousin’s support, while others will pave their own way. It remains to be seen whether they turn out to be competition for their star cousin or disappear after their first film.

Mohit Marwah

Sonam and Arjun Kapoor’s cousin Mohit has studied acting in New York for two years before he decided to join Bollywood. He was seen in the short film Strangers In The Night that was directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Karan Johar. He has been spotted at parties hosted at the Kapoor residence. Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi’s company Grazing Goat Pictures offered him his debut film Fugly. The movie will be directed by Kabir Sadanand, and will also mark the debut of Olympic bronze-medallist Vijender Singh.

Akhil Kapoor

Vinod Khanna’s nephew and Akshaye and Rahul’s cousin Akhil Kapur was to make his debut in a movie titled Tutak Tootak Tutiyan opposite Govinda’s daughter Narmada. However, the project never took off. In the meanwhile, rumour mills were buzzing with stories about Akhil dating Shazahn Padamsee. However, it looks like the youngster has finally managed to bag a project. He will make his debut alongside TV actor Jay Bahnushali in the movie Desi Kattey, which also stars Suniel Shetty, Shasha Agha Khan and Tia Bajpai.

Meera Chopra

Another cousin of Priyanka Chopra’s, Meera made her debut down South in 2007 with Anbe Aaruyire. As for her Bollywood innings, she already has two movies in her kitty. Meera will be seen in Vikram Bhatt’s 1920 London, which is the third instalment of the 1920 franchise, with South actor Diganth. She’s also working in Satish Kaushik’s movie Gangs Of Ghosts, which also features Mahie Gill, Anupam Kher, and Rajpal Yadav.

Barbie Handa

B-Town will have some more glamorous girls from the Chopra clan joining in. Priyanka and Parineeti Chopra’s sister Barbie is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Anubhav Sinha’s movie Zid, which will be directed by Vivek Agnihotri. She will be seen opposite yet another debutante Karanvir Sharma. B-Town apart, Barbie, who has done a few ad films, will also be seen in the South Indian movie Ninnale Naanu.

Johnny Baweja

While Harman Baweja is all set to try his luck at the BO once again with Dishkiyaoon, his cousin Johnny too is all set to make an entry in B-Town. Johnny has just wrapped up the shoot for Ishaan Trivedi’s thriller Sun Ladki opposite newbie Reeth Majumdar. Wonder if one of the two Baweja brothers will be able to find a foothold in Bollywood.

Armaan Jain

Karisma, Kareena and Ranbir’s cousin and Raj Kapoor’s daughter Reema Jain’s son, Armaan found a mentor in borther-in-law Saif Ali Khan. Saif and his partner Dinesh Vijan will be introducing Armaan in a film directed by Imtiaz Ali’s brother, Arif Ali. As for work experience, he has assisted Karan Johar, and also assisted Shakun Batra during the making of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu that starred his cousin Kareena Kapoor.

Kareena and Karisma Kapoor-Ranbir Kapoor
Karisma was the first girl from the Kapoor khandaan to step into Bollywood. After her successful innings, Kareena made her debut opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Refugee. Ranbir made his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2007. None of them were launched under their home banner.

Sonam Kapoor-Arjun Kapoor
While Sonam made her debut opposite Ranbir in Saawariya, Arjun was launched by Yash Raj films in Ishaqzaade. Sonam did face some criticism for her acting abilities, but in 2013 she did well at the box office with Raanjhanaa and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Arjun’s second film Aurangzeb failed at the BO, but the actor has some intersting films in his kitty. His next film is Gunday with Ranveer Singh. He also is a part of Finding Fanny opposite Deepika Padukone and a film based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel 2 States.

Sunny and Bobby Deol-Abhay Deol
Like Sunny and Bobby, Abhay too was launched through a home production. However, unlike his cousins, Abhay chose to sign movies like Dev D. He has now turned producer with One By Two that also stars his girlfriend Preeti Desai

Vidya Balan-Priyamani
Vidya made her debut with Parineeta, and went on to do movies like Paa and Kahani that won her a lot of critical acclaim as well as BO success. Priyamani is a successful actress down South. She made her B-Town debut with Raavan, in which she played Abhishek Bachchan’s sister. She was also seen in the number 0ne Two Three Four with Shah Rukh Khan in Chennai Express.

Priyanka Chopra-Parineeti Chopra
The Chopra sisters didn’t have any Godfathers, but managed to do well in B-Town. While Priyanaka rose slowly and steadly, Parineeti was noticed immediately in the industry. Parineeti made her debut with Yash Raj Films’ Ladies VS Ricky Bahl. She has movies with Yash Raj as well as other banners like Dharma in her Kitty.

Farah and Sajid Khan-Farhan and Zoya Aktar
This pair of cousins prefers to be behind the camera than in front of it. However, Farhan has managed to make it big as an actor too. All four siblings have tasted box office success and are among the top filmmakers in Bollywood.

Emraan Hashmi-Pooja and Alia Bhat
Pooja was launched by dad Mahesh with the movie Daddy. She went on to work with many A-list actors before turning to direction. Emraan too was launched by the Bhatt camp. The actor’s smartly-marketed image as the ‘Serial Kisser’ along with his continuous success at the BO has made even the A-list producers take note of him. Unlike the two, Alia made her debut with Karan Johar’s Student Of the Year. Her projects include Imtiaz Ali’s Highway and 2 States.

Fardeen Khan-Zayed Khan
While Fardeen was launched by dad Feroz Khan in Prem Agan, Zayed’s debut film Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne was not a home production. However, neither Fardeen nor Zayed managed to rule the roost in Bollywood.

Kajol and Tanishaa-Rani Mukerji
Kajol and Rani proved their mettle time and again at the cash register. However, Kajol’s sister Tanishaa could not replicate her sister or cousin’s success. Tanishaa, who made her stage debut last year and also turned producer with Son of Sardar, participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 7.
