Singer St Vincent is set to direct her first feature film, a big screen adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray".

"Elle" writer David Birke will adapt the philosophical novel for Lionsgate, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The book follows a beautiful but self-absorbed man who sells his soul in order to retain his beauty, letting his portrait age in his stead.

However, in the film, Dorian Gray will be a woman.

Vincent previously directed a segment in the all-female horror anthology "XX".
