Splitsville for Adam and Nisha?

They are without a doubt the sweetest, most endearing couple we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing which is why it was all the more distressing to hear that Adam Bedi and Nisha Harale could be on the verge of divorce. Exactly a year ago, they had hosted their annual Halloween party and no one had even vaguely suspected that anything was amiss. We hear it has less to do with any specific friction in the relationship and could be because they’ve just gradually drifted apart.

Apparently Adam relocated to Goa six months ago and made it his base while Nisha continued to be in Mumbai to follow her music career. Adam, who is the son of Kabir Bedi from his first wife Ixchel Leigh, has been dabbling in the hospitality business while simultaneously pursuing his interest in films. Your diarist can vouch that this ‘Adam and Eve’ couple had a fairytale romance they first met at a Mumbai discotheque and it was love at first sight. After dating each other for four months, they heroically defied stuffy societal notions to move in together.

Their courtship lasted 7 blissful years and far from developing any itch, it culminated in a dream wedding in Goa in 2009 on Valentine’s Day. From what we hear, Nisha is still very much in love with Adam, but he’s now concentrating all his energies on getting his career on track from his new base. Adam was last associated the production of his friend Kaizad Gustad’s film Jackpot and has a couple more projects in his kitty. When your diarist got in touch with him, the affable young man played down the rumours as best he could but admitted that he was in his “own space” and loving it. Let’s just hope this is a passing phase.
