When Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were supposed to come together for an episode of Koffee with Karan, expectations had sky-rocketed. Will it be bitchy, gossipy, scandalous like the Deepika Padukone - Sonam Kapoor episode? Well, the answer is here and NO, it isn't remotely as entertaining as the latter.
Kudos to Karan because like the actors mentioned, it only takes a KJo to make this happen on national television - where a current boyfriend sheds his inhibitions and decides to come on a show with his girlfriend's ex! But right from the word go, the discomfort between the two Rans- Ranbir and Ranveer was palpable. So much that it was hitting us right in the head.
Don't believe us? Have you watched the episode? If you have, lets' recall a few instances which show that there is absolutely no friendship between the two!
BODY LANGUAGE!
Ranbir's been on the show with Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor before. Not to mention that with Imran again, it was the same situation. Ranbir was dating Avantika at a time who Imran later married. But there was no sense of discomfort between the two in that episode. Instead, they even mock kissed each other. With Kareena, obviously it became a family outing so situation was different. Ranbir is very dear to KJo and is close to him. Plus, this is his third appearance on the show yet Ranbir seemed very closed while filming this episode. Lost in thoughts at times, silent and brooding the other, and his body language gave away the fact that he was hardly interested in putting up a great show. Rather, it seemed more like a favour.
WE AREN'T BEST FRIENDS
Ranbir and Ranveer were all praises for each other's work. While Ranveer called him the 'benchmark and the goal standard for young actors', Ranbir quickly added that 'Seeing hi work on screen makes me work better. He is inspiring. I am scared because this guy has no limit.' All flowery words said and done, when it came to friendship, the Kapoor lad quickly clarified, "We aren't best friends. I mean we are on this show because you called us. I love his work and love him as a person." Too much to say?
DO YOU REALLY LIKE RANBIR?
There was a segment on the show, during the Rapid Fire round, where Karan asked Ranbir, "One question you would want to ask Ranveer." And Ranbir chuckled, "Do you really like Ranbir Kapoor?" Ouch!
Now these are instances which are HUGE giveaways that no matter what, Ranbir and Ranveer did agree to be on the couch for Karan but there were far away from being... TOGETHER! Sorry, guys!
