From her weight issues to her average acting skills and more so her choices when it comes to her films, Sonakshi Sinha has been criticised minutely for everything she does! But the girl has hold on to her grounds and made heads turn. Shunning her critics and slapping her detractors, Sonakshi has definitely made a 360 degree turn.

Upfront and honest, Sonakshi does want meaningful roles but not just for the heck of it. At a time when three of her films- all masala entertainers hit screens back to back, the Dabangg girl is busy hopping from one promotion to another! We cornered Sonakshi Sinha for an exclusive interview with us where she talks about her film Action Jackson, Prabhu Dheva, Ajay Devgn, Lootera, Lingaa and Superstar Rajinikanth.

You have worked with the younger lot like Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh and the seniors like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. So how different it is working with actors of two different generations?

You can’t really compare two people as they have different personality, different styles of working. So you can’t compare two actors. But yes, as far as seniors are concerned, it is a learning experience for me whereas with the younger lot, I can be myself and we sort of learn together. It become s a little easier to talk and chill around.

You are working with Prabhu Sir for the third time and Ajay for the second time. So what sort of comfort level did you share working with them?

It keeps going better with each passing film. He has been there for me always and ever since our first film. so working with Prabhu sir is always fun. I have even started talking like him on the sets. And Ajay is very helpful. He looks intense but he is very caring.

What makes you happy: A critically acclaimed film like Lootera or a commercial film like Dabangg or Rowdy Rathore?

For me, films are meant to entertain as many people as they can. So if my film reaches more and more people, it makes me happy. Ofcourse commercially successful film makes me happy. If people appreciate my work in films like Lootera, that too makes me happy.

You are sharing the screen on Action Jackson with two more actresses. So will the screen space will be divided?

All the roles are different in their own way. This is the first time I have done a multi starrer as all other films have been solo leads. I think I have made a mark in Bollywood and I don’t need to be insecure about fact that I am sharing space with two other actresses. In the entire premise of the film, everyone fits into their roles nicely. This one is a very entertaining film which I loved to be a part of.

How was it working with Rajinikanth in Lingaa?

It has been a fantastic experience. I could not have asked for a better start to my career in South industry. It is amazing to work with people who made me feel right at home. The director was impressed with the way I spoke the language, thanks to Prabhu Sir and A R Murugadoss. Everyone knows how big a star Rajini Sir is.  People worship him across the globe but as a person, I am yet to meet someone as humble and down to earth as Rajini Sir is. In spite of his stardom, he is the simplest man present in this industry. He knows me ever since I was a kid and he is a family friend. My father and he are friends for years so I remember that the last time I met him was when I was a kid and we went to Chennai. Now when I was working opposite him, more than me, the pressure was on him to make sure nothing wrong happened to me.

You proved your acting capabilities with Lootera, but we mostly see you doing Masala Entertainers. So can we see you doing a full fledged women oriented film someday?

Definitely, yes! In fact, the next film I am doing is a full fledged action film with AR Murgadoss where I will be doing all the action. I am looking forward to that and I will start shooting for the film soon.

You have maximum number of films in the 100 crore club and now you are about to do a women centric action film. With films like Queen, Mary Kom, Mardaani setting benchmarks, do you feel the pressure?

I have lost the count on number of films starring me which have earned 100 crore at the box office. 100 crore does not matter to me and I never thought while signing a film that it will do 100 crore at the box office. As far as my action film is concerned, I have not thought anything about it. First at least let me start shooting for the film.
