Akshay Kumar has already done three films this year. While Baby managed to be the best of the lot, both in terms of critical acclaim and box office reception, Gabbar is Back and Brothers earned in the range of Rs 80 crores, managing to be just average fares. Here he's back with another commercial potboiler- Singh is Bliing- that has every ingredient to become the next potential blockbuster film for Akki.

The film which also stars Amy Jackson and Lara Dutta in key roles released on Friday and has received a thunderous response at the ticket windows. So much that the trade analysts have already predicted an over Rs 20 crore opening for SIB.

Here's what helped Akshay's film this time...

The Setting!
First of all, Baby was a niche film which catered to a huge audience, solely because of a star presence in form of Akshay Kumar. Gabbar is Back was a socio-political drama with the masala angle and Brothers was another emotionally draining film. Three films this year and none of them in the Rs 100 crore club, Akki already had a lot to lose. But with Singh is Bliing releasing, the actor might be really happy. Why? Trade analysts have predicted an amazing opening for the film already. Plus, the entire backdrop, the recall value of the franchise coupled with the masala treatment, Akshay's superstar presence and Amy-Lara's amazing camaraderie individually with the actor is only proving beneficial for the film.

Holiday?
SIB released on October 2, which is a national holiday on account of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday. Hence, with schools and offices shut mostly across the country, more and more footfalls are expected on the opening day itself.

Tremendous advance booking
Along with the holiday advantage, one thing that's worked supremely well for SIB is the amount of advance bookings which the show registered prior to its release. So much that the booking is almost at par with Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan is most key centres like Delhi. Most shows today are already running housefull which is a good sign for the filmmaker and the team. Overall occupancy in the morning shows is around 60 percent.

Family film
The key target audience for the film is the family audience and SIB will cash in on that for sure. Given that it's a national holiday, it's family time for everyone around and one of the best ways to spend it would definitely be watching this Akshay Kumar film. It has the comedy, the action, the romance, sans any cheap or vulgar moments- ideal for family viewing.

With everything working in its favour, the film is easily expected to sail through the Rs 20 crore mark and become the second biggest opener of the year, after Bajrangi Bhaijaan. But if a good word of mouth ensues, a spike in the night shows might help the film even record a Rs 22-24 crore opening as well. So in all probabilities, everything's looking up for this Singh with the Bliing, for the time being.
