Popular singer-songwriter Lorde is actually a 45 year-old man, or so claims South Park

'The Cissy', the third episode of South Park's 18th season, reveals that Randy —  father of one of the leads, Stan — is the singer Lorde.

And what has led Randy to turn into a young female popstar? Bathroom issues. Yes. Going by South Park's reputation of taking the plot to an unbelievable, ridiculous extreme, The Cissy' plot and sub-plots leading Randy to turn into Lorde don't disappoint.

In this episode, Randy seeks to use the nicer, more convenient women's bathroom. But when denied, he turns himself into an exceptionally talented 17-year-old girl called Lorde.

While this is an obvious spoof on the recent speculations on Lorde's age, the real issue taking centre stage is gender identity.

South Park is known to spare no one from their jokes, including themselves. But usually their victims are people who have become poor examples for humanity.

Then why target Lorde?

According to avclub.com, the entire sub-plot was a South Park's way of hitting back at Spin.com which had taken exception to South Park's earlier Lorde joke in the episode 'Gluten-free Ebola'. The episode even quotes Spin’s description of Lorde as 'humble'.

South Park did not leave it there. It later released the song by Randy/Lorde used in 'The Cissy'.

However the song is actually sung by Australian pop singer Sia.

Lorde has taken it sportingly.
