After playing three different characters in his first three films and opting for unusual characters in his next films as well, Sidharth Malhotra has been instrumental in selecting a variety of roles. While 'Ek Villain' had him as a bad guy turned good, his next films 'Warrior' will have him essay a boxer's role and 'Bhavesh Joshi' will have him as a superhero.

And now we hear that Sidharth who was already roped in for Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani's next production will be playing a time traveler in the film. The film will be a romantic tale spanning over timelines. The film was initially offered to Aamir Khan first but the association could not be worked out for several reasons.

Also, Sidharth asked his mentor Karan Johar to read the script and Karan seemed to have absolutely loved the script, so much that he has decided to co-produce the film along with Farhan-Ritesh's Excel Entertainment.

Farhan and Ritesh had been planning to have Karan on board for the longest time and are happy that it finally worked out. This would be their first joint production venture whereas Karan has previously co-produced many hit films. He joined hands with good friend Shah Rukh's 'Red Chillies Entertainment' for 'My Name is Khan' and has also co produced '2 States' with Sajid Nadiadwala. Karan is also co-producing a film with Balaji's Ekta Kapoor, which will star Kareena Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles.
