Jil Jung Juk, the Tamil film that actor Siddharth is starring in and producing, is releasing on February 12. It is directed by young Deeraj Vaidy, an engineer-turned-filmmaker.

Deeraj explains the reason why the movie has such a quirky name. “I was fascinated by the concept of the three dimensions of physics – mass, length, and time. A random discussion with my friend Mohan Ramakrishnan led us to an idea of giving human forms to these physical dimensions. And thus, the characters Jil (Nanjil Sivaji), Jung (Jambulingam), and Juk (Jaguar Jagan) were born. Jil Jung Juk is a story about the three characters and their journey to complete a mission”, he says.

The director adds, “Producer Siddharth has been very supportive to us. In fact, this film was shot in just 38 days, and the producer ensured that everything was in place.”

When asked about the genre of this movie, Deeraj explains that it is hard for him to classify a film like this. But if one needs to put in a box, then it could perhaps be called a crime comedy or a fantasy crime film.

Ask Deeraj about whether he was always confident about making it as a director in Kollywood and he says he has the determination to succeed. "I’ve created many short films and written many short stories before I entered the film industry as a director. And this is where the most important punchline of Jil Jung Juk comes from - If you have to achieve something big, you shouldn’t hesitate to take up small things," he says.
