For all you young girls aiming to gain an entry into Sandalwood, this is your chance to grab the big ticket. The makers of Ring Road Shuba — a Kannada film that has already grabbed attention due to its all women crew — is now searching for a new face to be cast in the lead role.

“We will have the people of Karnataka make the final choice. Starting November 15, we will invite girls aged between 17-23 to mail us their recent photos. They will be required to send four pictures,” says a source in the team. Of the lot, nine girls will be shortlisted and groomed by Asha Chandra who has trained the likes of Dimple Kapadia, Nagarjuna and most recently Kangana Ranaut.

After undergoing the training, contestants will be subjected to screen tests that will be aired on TV. People will then get to cast their vote for a particular contestant depending on her looks and acting ability. The lucky one may also get to act alongside popular actors of the Kannada such as Pooja Gandhi and Deepa Sannidhi, who according to the buzz in Gandhinagar may be a part of the film.

The film, that is likely to be made in other languages also will go on floors once the lead cast is finalised. As for the rest of the crew, Priya Belliappa is the director. She has written  the story as well.

Dialogues are by Rekha Rani. Maulshri Singh, who has worked as an assistant cameraman in Dhobi Ghat is the cinematographer, while editor Sanchari Das Mollick has worked in Quick Gun Murugan before. Make up is by Charu and Bharati Chabria is the costume designer. Apoorva is the art director and Vani Harikrishna is the music director, while Ranjini Ravindra Das is the producer.

The all-women team are looking for actors who want to audition and the best way to do that would be to get in touch with Priya Belliappa.
