Quarry

From Steve Golin (producer of Oscar-winning movies Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Spotlight and The Revenant) and Greg Yaitanes (director of TV shows like Lost, Prison Break, House M.D. and Grey’s Anatomy) comes Quarry. The show stars Logan Marshall-Green, Peter Mullan, Jodi Balfour, Edoardo Ballerini and Jamie Hector.

Quarry follows the story of Mac Conway, a Marine who returns home to Memphis from Vietnam in 1972 and finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonised by the public. As he struggles to cope with his experiences at war, Conway is drawn into a network of killing and corruption that spans the length of the Mississippi River.

Quarry premiered on September 14 at 10 pm.

Better Things

The new age comedy series Better Things is created by comedians Louie CK and Pamela Adlon. The cringe-humour television series stars Adlon in the role of a divorced actress embarking on a new journey as she navigates through situations trying to earn a living, raising three daughters all by herself while also having fun with a friend or two and maybe squeezing in some private time once in a while. The show embodies a very real woman in an extremely real world while also throwing in some laughs amidst all the hilarities that life throws at you.

Better Things premiered on September 15 at 10 pm.

This is Us

Dan Fogelman , the man behind Crazy Stupid Love, Tangled, Galavant, Bolt and 17 Again, comes to the small screen with This is Us. Tagged as possibly the biggest show of the season by critics internationally, This is Us is a dramedy that follows the life of Jack, his wife Rebecca and the people they meet along the way who all share the same birthdays; as the story progresses, their lives intertwine. The show marks actress Mandy Moore’s comeback to television in a pivotal role and also stars Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes, Gilmore Girls, , Rocky Balboa), Chris Sullivan (Stranger Things,  Guardians of the Galaxy, The Americans), Justin Hartley (Smallville, Revenge) and Sterling K Brown (American Crime Story, Person of Interest) among others.

This is Us premieres on September 24 at 10 pm.

Westworld

Produced by Jonathan Nolan (writer- Interstellar, The Dark Knight trilogy) and JJ Abrams (Star Trek, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Westworld stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood and more. Based on the 1973 film of the same name, the show, described as a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin, tells the story of a futuristic theme park called Westworld.

Westworld premieres on October 4 at 10 pm.

Divorce

Sarah Jessica Parker, who was last seen on television in 2004 and vowed to never work in television again, will be seen marking her big return not only as the lead in the upcoming TV show Divorce but also as the show’s executive producer. The show also stars Thomas Haden Church (Sideways, Spider-Man), Sterling Jerins (Conjuring), Talia Balsam (No Strings Attached, Little Manhattan) and Molly Shannon (Serendipity, Shallow Hal, Bad Teacher ), among others. The story of a very, very long divorce, the show follows Frances and Robert as they grapple with the fallout from their failing marriage, not just for themselves, but also for their children and friends, ranging from awkward public encounters to difficult private therapy sessions.

Divorce premieres on October 17 at 10 pm.

Insecure

Insecure is a comedy show based on Issa Rae’s web series Awkward Black Girl and follows the awkward experiences and racy tribulations of a modern-day African-American woman.

Insecure premieres on October 17 at 10:30 pm.

Chance

Chance marks Hugh Laurie’s big return to primetime television. A provocative, psychological thriller, Chance is based on a novel of the same name and focuses on Eldon Chance, a San Francisco-based forensic neuro-psychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.

Chance premieres on October 21 at 10 pm.
