Bollywood's connection with hill stations is not new as the industry has shot a plethora of flicks set against the picturesque city of Shimla.

It's rich heritage, lush green valleys have been a major part of Bollywood movies. Bollywood has never missed the chance to shoot in Shimla and get its viewers to visit the tourist destination.

Bang Bang

One of the most-awaited movies of this year -- Bang Bang -- has been shot in Shimla. The movie features Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif as the lead pair. 

3 Idiots

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 3 Idiots was shot in various mesmerising hill-stations, Shimla being one of them. The movie revolves around three friends, out of which, two are on a hunt for the third, who disappears after college.

Jab We Met

Director Imtiaz Ali's love for picturesque hill stations is evident in his movies. Various scenes of this movie too are shot in Shimlaa and one of them features the Toy Train too.

Black

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Black is majorly shot in Woodville Palace of Shimla. The Woodville Palace is shown to be the protagonist's house in the city.

Main Tera Hero

Media reports suggest that David Dhawan, director of Mein Tera Hero, has always believed Shimla to be a lucky city for him. It was probably this belief that led the director to shoot in Shimla. 

Main Aisa Hi Hoon

Harry Baweja's film Main Aisa Hi Hoon, is shot in Shimla. The scenic backdrop in several scenes can be noticed easily.

Raju Chacha

Ajay Devgn's Raju Chacha that also stars wife Kajol, is another movie that captured the city's beauty.
