Steven Moffat, showrunner, and writer of TV's massive hit Sherlock is changing his favourite episode of all time of the series.

According to a report in Comicbook.com, Moffat thinks the last episode of season 4, 'The Final Problem' has beaten 'A Scandal in Belgravia' to become his favourite in the show.

"Normally I answer 'A Scandal In Belgravia,' which I kind of think is the best thing I've ever written. But 'The Final Problem' might be edging ahead. Let's see what you all think," Moffat said when the question was put to him.

Moffat co-wrote the episode with Mark Gatiss (who also plays Sherlock's older brother Mycroft Holmes) and it is the season finale episode of the series 4 which includes 'The Six Thatchers' (airing January 1) and 'The Lying Detective' (airing January 8).

'A Scandal in Belgravia' has been a fan favourite. Will 'The Final Problem' live up to these heightened expectations, remains to be seen.
