Putting the old differences behind Shatrughan Sinha today showered praise on Amitabh Bachchan for successfully portraying the role of a 13-year-old child in his film Paa.

Sinha, fondly called 'Shotgun', by fans had famously fallen out with the Bollywood mega star but that did not stop him from lauding Bachchan's role, as a child suffering from the genetic disorder of progeria, in the movie.

"It is a challenge to successfully play the role of a 13 year-old child when you are actually in your 60s. Not many actors of our generation can take up such a challenging role and play it successfully...this shows versatility of the actor (Amitabh)," Sinha told PTI.

Asked about his not-so-cordial relationship with Bachchan, Sinha said that he should not be blamed for it. "We were friends during our struggle days in the filmworld. Though we did a few hit movies like Dostana, Kala Pathar and Shaan together but later Bachchan for reasons best known to him decided not to act with me in movies," he said.

Sinha had also openly taken a potshot at the Bachchan family in 2008 after the nominations for the IIFA awards were announced, saying, "Sab kissika beta hai, ya kissiki bahu, ya kissiki biwi (Everyone is either someone's son, someone's daughter-in-law or someone’s wife)."

Bachchan who is the brand ambassador of the awards, reacted sharply to the comments blaming Sinha for interfering in the National award selection.
