Amidst his hectic schedule and work on his upcoming films, actor Shahid Kapoor manages to squeeze out some time to rejuvenate himself. And guess what brings a smile on his face? Playing cricket with the children of his locality! The actor is often spotted on Sundays spending time with the kids from his society.

From Monday to Saturday, Shahid is on his toes juggling between workshops and meetings with directors for the pre-shoot work for his upcoming films. A source informs, “Shahid is gearing up to start shooting for his next film Santosh Sivan’s Phata Poster Nikla Hero with Ileana D’Cruz. He also has Prabhudheva’s Namak for which he is making sure all the prep work is done before they start shooting. But Sundays he keeps for himself to relax and unwind. And what better way than spending time with the kids.”

Shahid simply loves cricket, so it’s no surprise to know how he spends his time on off days. “On Sundays he is spotted playing cricket with kids from his locality. These kids gather religiously to not only get a glimpse of the actor, but also to play with him. Shahid organises various cricket tournaments there and even plays with them. Initially the society members were totally taken aback to see Shahid like that. Not only that, he even has lunch with the kids during the breaks they take from the cricket tournaments,” the source further adds.

As both of his films are now going to go on the floor by the end or early next year, Shahid is channelising all his energies towards grooming himself for the two characters that he is playing. Recently, the actor was seen praising his competitor and fellow actor Ranbir Kapoor for the latter’s performance in his Oscar nominated film Barfi!.
