Sources reveal that Shah Rukh Khan was approached by Abbas Mustan to star in a negative role in their next action thriller Race 3. They told him that he would be the protagonist of the film, just like Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3.

It is learnt that the director duo met SRK and  gave him a brief narration. While the actor found the role interesting, he wasn’t entirely convinced about it. He isn’t ready to play the baddie in the film unless it is a role that really excites him. An insider reveals, “Shah Rukh has worked with the director duo during his early years in Baazigar, in which he had played a grey character but he has passed up on the offer this time. SRK politely told the directors that he didn’t feel the audience would accept him in such a dark role for now.”

Anyway the actor has many directors like Rohit Shetty, Farhan Akhtar and Anurag Basu waiting to start their films with him. It remains to be seen who will get to direct Khan’s next film in 2015.

Been there, done that
SRK has played a baddie at the beginning of his career in Darr (1993). He played a man obsessed with the leading lady Juhi Chawla. He also played a similar role in Anjaam (1994) in which is played a disturbing character who falls in love with Madhuri Dixit.
